Risk of bleeding in patients undergoing percutaneous endoscopic gastrotrostomy tube insertion under antiplatelet therapy

Abstract
Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) is currently considered a technique with a high risk of bleeding. This condition is arbitrarily applied to all those proce- dures with a rate of associated bleeding events above 1 % (1), and the risk has been estimated to be around 2.5 % for PEG tube insertion.
