Abstract
Dear Editor,
CT colonography or virtual colonoscopy is an increasingly used test for the screening of colon cancer, its use being supported by several meta-analyses. It can diagnose polyps greater than 1 cm (1), with a sensitivity similar to that of colonoscopy for polyps 6 mm in diameter and above (2-5). Its use entails a lower risk of complications when compared to colonoscopy. However, despite its being a mildly aggressive approach, complications have been reported that range from vasovagal illness to colon perforation (6,7).
