Abstract
Dear Editor,
The most common cause of hepatic encephalopathy (HE) is chronic liver disease.
Although there are rare extrahepatic diseases that may pres- ent with hepatic encephalopathy as a clinical manifestation, we report on a case of a patient with HE secondary to portosystemic shunt.
