Abstract
Celiac disease (CeD) is an immune-based systemic condition triggered by gluten in genetically predisposed individuals, and characterized by the presence of a variable mixture of gluten-dependant clinical manifestations, specific antibodies, haplotype HLA-DQ2 or HLA-DQ8, and bowel disease (1).
