Abstract
Introduction: The Spanish Society of Digestive Pathology (SEPD) and the Spanish Society of Hospital Pharmacy (SEFH) promoted a project to create a consensus document between the specialties of Gastroenterology and Hospital Pharmacy: CONDIFA. The project's objective was to evaluate cooperation between the specialties, with the aim of exchanging best practices, knowledge, experiences, and areas for improvement in patient care. Methods: The project was divided into two phases. In the first phase, a survey consisting of 37 questions was designed for gastroenterologists and hospital pharmacists who were members of the SEPD and SEFH. In the second phase, workshops were held with 10 gastroenterologists and 10 hospital pharmacists at different locations throughout Spain. At each meeting, the survey results were presented, a discussion was held among the members of each group, and the participants voted on the survey's conclusions. Statistical analysis: Descriptive analysis of variables and comparison using Fisher's exact test or the chi-square test. SPSS version 15.0 software. Results: A need for structured multidisciplinary work was identified, with the definition of joint work areas, through the use of tools integrated into the healthcare system, based on improving patient care, the sustainability of the system, and the promotion of joint research. Conclusions: The results reflect a consolidated trend toward structured collaboration between the Gastroenterology and Hospital Pharmacy services, through regular participation in multidisciplinary committees, establishing a care model oriented towards efficiency, traceability, and continuity of patient care
